Coast Mental Health presents CONNECT: our community, our art, our show, from February 5th until March 20th at The Gathering Place Community Centre at 609 Helmcken Street. CONNECT is an art show featuring artists who use social services and live, work or consider the Downtown South of Vancouver home. In addition to the juried art show, the public is invited to participate in workshops including: working with textures, poetry reading, collage, photography and drawing.
A catalogue has been produced presenting the artists and a piece of their work, which can be purchased for $20 by emailing artshow@coastmentalhealth.com
There is an opening reception on February 5th from 6pm-8pm. The exhibit is open February 6th to 28th, daily 1pm-8pm and March 1st to 20th, Wednesday to Saturday 1pm-6pm.
“I am excited about combining artists and art from people who use social services in the Downtown South with residents, small business employees and others connected to the Downtown South of Vancouver,” says Jeanne Krabbendam, artist and one of the organizers of the show.
