What is Opus Essential Greeting Card Printing?

While we're renowned for our Opus Fine Art Printing service that debuted in 2010, Opus Essential Greeting Card Printing adds a fresh approach - that makes printing your artwork accessible to every artist.

Opus Fine Art Printing remains focused on achieving the pinnacle of image quality through pigment-based inks and archival papers. While this method still stands as the epitome of fine art archival prints, also known as Gicleé fine art prints, we see the need for a more approachable level of printing.

Opus Essential Card Printing was born to fill this gap. Our new Essential Card Printing service takes advantage of CMYK toner for color, a cost-effective method that allows artists and photographers to distribute their work in larger volumes at a more accessible price point. While less archival than our Fine Art Printing, this method is perfect for printing artwork on cards, and smaller prints.

Initially, Opus Essential Card Printing will offer two primary core prints on 14pt Cellulose paper: 5" x 7" greeting cards and 8" x 10" poster prints.

Frequently Asked Questions

What paper options and sizes are available to print on? Is there a minimum order quantity?

Initially we are offering Greeting cards in 5" x 7" size on 14pt, matte paper, and semi gloss paper in quantities of 25 and up. Additionally we are offering 8.5"x 11" sheets poster prints on this same 14pt matte and semi gloss paper in minimum qty 10 and up with sold separately options for envelopes and crystal clear bags and plans to expand new options!

What kind of file should I send over? Dimensions, Bleed, Etc.

This style of printing isn't as fully customizable as our fine art printing service, and images are limited to fit within the 5x7 card face with a slight white border and the 8.5x11 also best fits an 8x10 image or smaller. *.TIF and *.JPG images work great and unfortunately full bleed won't be available initially but expect it in the future!

How many different designs can you do for a print run? Without a separate charge

Our minimum quantity is 25 (for 5x7 cards) and quantity of 10 (for 8.5 x 11 prints) must be the same image and same paper as this printing is mass production process, for smaller shorter or single editions our fine art printing service is available.

Can we print inside? e.g. “cover” and “inside” of the card?

Not at first; however, this option will be added soon, but for now blank greeting (inside) cards are more universally adaptable for any occasion!
